GENERAL REGULATIONS

Gen Reg 7815, Vehicle, Staging

Where a venue utilises the auto-start system the staging timer is only activated where one competitor is in Full Stage and the other in pre-Stage. If a competitor has failed to stage within twenty (20) seconds for Sportsman classes, or seven (7) seconds for Professional, Performance and Pro Radial of his or her opponent being permitted to do so, then that competitor will be disqualified.

A reasonable amount of time will be allowed for Driver/ Rider to stage, with that determination being at the sole and absolute discretion of The Starter. Failure to stage upon The Starter’s instructions is possible grounds for disqualification. If a competitor has failed to stage within twenty (20) seconds for Sportsman classes, or seven (7) seconds for Professional, Performance and Pro Radial of his or her opponent being permitted to do so, then that competitor may be adjudged to be “sandbagging”, and The Starter may initiate the starting sequence, at their discretion.

As part of an ongoing review of all categories it has been deemed necessary to allow for the following safety improvements to the Supercomp Modified Production category. The following rules are effective immediately. See rules below:

IHRA Australia and its Technical Review Committee (TRC) have used COVID-19 and the unfortunate downtime in drag racing activities to further increase and develop a safer sport, to improve driver / rider / vehicle safety specifications.

 

There will be updates provided over the next few months and we urge anyone in the drag racing industry to refer to IHRA Australia’s Website for all of these latest rule updates.

 
The following rules have been created and you will need to take note specifically of their implementation dates.
 

It is a responsibility of all drivers/riders/crew chiefs to be familiar and up to date with all of their class regulations. As Follows:

 

ELECTRIMOTION

General Reg 4096, Electrimotion

Effective 01/01/2021 any vehicle running a quicker ET than 6.50 ¼ mile or 4.15 1/8 mile must have Electrimotion system fitted with the following functions, Fuel Shut off, Ignition shut down and parachute release device must be functional.
